Skip Counting

Skip Counting Fun. We used hand and foot cut outs to practice skip counting by 5's and 10's. I found the hand and foot pages on Pinterest for FREE! The kids just colored them and cut them out. We then had fun arranging them on the floor before we posted them up in our room for reference throughout the year.

Making Words

We love Making Word activities in our classroom. I always try to make them themed. Here are a few examples.

Here is one I created for St. Patrick's Day. You can find it, and so much more, in my St. Patrick's Day Book & Literacy Fun pack on Teachers Pay Teachers. Just click here!

Here is another one I made for Easter. You can find it in my Hip Hoppity Easter {Book & Literacy} Unit on Teachers Pay Teachers. You can find it here!

ELA Notebooking

Photo Dump of our ELA Notebooks.
Edible Word Work. I love doing any kind of learning activity that involves food! And so do the kids! Here we are working on {oo} words.
We do word and picture sorts.
We write about the beginning, middle, and end of stories.
We use our sight words in sentences.
We write about our favorite parts.
We write about the problem and solution in stories.
We write about our favorite book in a series. We LOVE Skippyjon Jones in our class!
We write our words in ABC Order.
Sometimes we even glue pages into our notebooks.

Spring Break!

Finally! It's here! Spring Break! That 1 week of much needed rest and relaxation every teacher needs before the last few weeks of school. A time for rejuvenation and preparation. Or, if your like me, a time to be a lazy butt!

A few weeks ago I tried a foray into selling a few of my teacher created goodies on TPT. Let me tell you, it's going pretty good. I'm actually impressed with myself. Could it be any more gratifying to know that something you created for your own kidlets, other teachers are finding useful with their little ones too! AWESOME!

39 "units" sold so far. Just a few, but they are a happy few! I told myself that I would have a giveaway when I get to 50 "units", so just 11 more to go before some prizes are given!

Here are some pictures of edible math. I just love using edible math in the classroom! Here are the kidlets working on place value. We used Chex squares for the hundreds, pretzel rods for the tens, and Cheerios for the ones. Each of the kids had a little work math that I whipped up real quick. I gave the kids lots of numbers to practice with and of course when we were done practicing we got to eat our math! Woot Woot!
